Asana is a state of restful awareness developed in a stable position where one develops equanimity. Achieving yogic state of mind using simple poses like Padmasana or Siddhasana is demonstrated in stone carvings well over 3000 years ago. Asanas need not be difficult or complex. When asanas are practiced slowly, with deep breath, and with bandhas and mudras engaged, they can help you discover deeper realms of consciousness within. Additionally when practiced with the knowledge of its philosophy and the underlying principles, they can offer you a great healing practice.

According to a peer-reviewed study, a single session of yoga therapy in the hospital for cancer patients showed a significant decrease in all symptoms, including fatigue and anxiety.

While the scope of Yoga is vast, it also helps us improve our health and wellness, both in prevention and rehabilitation.

In this webinar, we will explore
  • Classical definitions of Asana and how they apply to the practitioner.
  • Subtle nuanced practice of yoga asana to experience the profound effects of yoga.
  • Holistic Yoga - Philosophy and Practice and other courses offered by Hindu University of America
