Hindu Musical Traditions also called Shastriya Sangeet traditions are ancient and diverse. But they have a common foundation based on 'Raga' and 'Tala' that is rooted in a unique Spiritual Cosmology. 

 

In this Webinar, we will introduce the theoretical foundations of the world of Ragas and Talas, and set up the framework for a deeper cultural immersion, involving guided listening experiences. It will also introduce the course coming up in the Spring Quarter, which will take the student into a world of exploration of the classical origins of Hindu musical forms, its theoretical foundations, its pedagogy and the current state of Indian music.
