Long before the Greeks "invented" philosophy, the Vedic Hindu Darshanas explored the nature of knowledge, reality, and existence.
This exploration evolved into the six classical orthodox systems of philosophy (Aastika Darshanas), which include Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Sankhya, Yoga, Mimamsa, and Vedanta and the three heterodox systems (Nastika Darshanas), which include Charvaka, Jaina, and Bauddha.
In this webinar, Dr. Kalika Uttarkar will provide a brief overview of these nine Darshanas and introduce a course on the systems of Hindu philosophy.
