Speakers: Priya Saha and Utsav Chakrabarti
In this Webinar, we will shed light on the little known Bangladeshi Genocide of 1971. We will delve into the background of this important and transformational historical event where an estimated 3 million people were murdered, 10 million refugees fled Bangladesh, and between 200,000 and 400,000 girls and women were raped.
We will also discuss the challenges to teaching this history, and what the introduction of bipartisan House Resolution 1430 Recognizing the Bangladesh Genocide means with our speakers Priya Saha (Executive Director of Human Rights Congress for Bangladesh Minorities) and Utsav Chakrabarti (Executive Director of HinduPACT).
