The Yoga of the Yoga Sutras_INSTA_02

Speaker: Dr. Shriram Sarvotham

How do we transform a turbulent mind into a tranquil mind? Well over 2000 years before the West invented the discipline of psychology, Maharishi Patanjali codified the principles of Yoga in the Yoga sutras in the form of short, terse aphorisms.

The foundational principles of yoga practices such as asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (yogic breath-work), dhyana (meditation), etc., are enunciated in the yoga sutras in a clear and thorough manner. One of the core teachings of the yoga sutras is the system of Ashtanga Yoga, a highly structured and carefully crafted set of eight holistic disciplines (limbs) of yoga. The yoga sutras also present a detailed analysis of the mechanics of the mind and how to transform the turbulent mind into a tranquil mind.
It is the key not only to accomplishing a tranquil mind but opens the doors to excellencein action, natural leadership qualities, and a life of harmony and higher values and virtues.

In this webinar, Dr. Shriram Sarvotham will introduce the importance of studying Yoga through the Yoga Sutras.
