Gītā Vidyā Webinar

Gita Vidya is a three course sequence involving Sādhana, Śodhana, and Vādana; with focus on 116 ślokas selected out of the 700 from the Bhagavad-Gītā.

Introduction:

  • How do you make sense of an incomprehensibly vast literary world that Hinduism offers?
  • How do you get into that well structured, well mapped, layered textual world that appears so complex, so intimidating from outside?
  • Where do you even begin?

Hindu University of America invites you to start your exploration of the Hindu Textual world at what would seem the most obvious place to begin — The Bhagavad Gītā.

Faculty:

Sri Gopi V. Prasad, is the founder and Managing Director of GloMan Group and also serves as a visiting faculty in various management schools in India. He is associated with Sri Aurobindo Center for Advanced Research (SACAR) for ongoing study and development of programs based on Sri Aurobindo’s teachings and Bhagavad Gītā. Sri Gopi has been immersed in the study of Bhagavad Gītā since his childhood. His lifelong interest in the text led him to study various interpretations and commentaries on it, from which he developed a three course Gītā Vidyā Program.

Gītā Vidyā Program:

A three-part sequence of courses titled – Gītā Vidyā Sādhana, Gītā Vidyā Śodhana and Gītā Vidyā Vādana, that help students to integrate the wisdom of the Bhagavad-Gītā in their lives. The program is carried out using Active, Interactive and Collaborative ways of online learning. The course material is available in multiple languages.

Gītā Vidyā Program is an endeavor to invoke the divine wisdom by chanting the verses to understand its essence by exploring the views to realize its effect by practical application through the process of Sādhana, Śodhana and Vādana. The three parts would be offered in a three quarter series.

The Gītā Vidyā Sādhana course focuses on guided chanting of selected ślokas from the Bhagavad Gītā followed by an interactive discussion on their meaning. These courses enable the students to memorize, understand, and apply the essential aspects of the divine wisdom imparted by Shri Krishna to Arjuna. Along the way, the students will also acquire an overview of Hindu Dharma from a spiritual perspective that can enrich their lives.

The course focuses on 116 ślokas (verses) selected out of the 700 from the Bhagavad-Gita; thematically structured under the topics of Hindu Identity, Outer Wisdom, Inner Wisdom and Hindu Pathways. It presents an overview of the six dimensions of divine wisdom namely; Physical, Social, Occupational, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual.

In this course students will be able to:
