SADHVI ANANDAMAIYEE GIRI
Sadhvi Anandamaiyee Giri is a young, pioneering spiritual leader and orator of Sri Ramcharitmanas, Shrimad Bhagwad Gita and other holy books. She is a trained teacher of Meditation, Yoga and Pranayama practices and a Sannyasin of the Juna Akhada. She was born in Trinidad and Tobago on November 17, 1981. Her exemplary behavior, sweet and simple nature, jovial personality, sharp brain, power of cooperation and tolerance are all great assets to the noble work she has taken on. Sadhvi ji was inclined towards religion and spirituality from her early childhood. She is very fortunate to have lived a holy life under the guidance and tutelage of Swami Brahma Swarupananda ji (Swami Brahmadeo ji) of Kashi, India, who nurtured her from the tender age of three (3). She received spiritual instruction in the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita and other holy shastras from Swamiji. At the age of 18, Sadhvi ji commenced her global travels, disseminating spiritual knowledge and the tenets of Vedic Sanatan Dharma throughout the world. She was officially initiated into the order of Sannyas (monastic renunciation) in the year 2016, at the age of 35, by Param Pujya Swami Avdheshananda Giri ji, Junapeethadhiswar Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Juna Akada, India. Swamiji travelled to Trinidad and Tobago to perform this initiation. Sadhvi ji’s Sannyas Deeksha is historic to the land of Trinidad and Tobago as she is the first and youngest daughter of the Indian Diaspora to receive initiation into Sannyas in her own Motherland. Following her secondary level education in Trinidad and Tobago, she studied Hindi at Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra, India in 2000. Whilst there, she also studied Sanskrit and completed her MA in Philosophy. She has also been a Swayamsevika of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangha for over twenty (20) years. Currently, Sadhvi ji is advancing her studies in Sanksrit and Post colonialism as well as aspiring towards her PhD with the Hindu University of America. Sadhvi ji has received inspiration from great world leaders including Maananeeya Shri Ashok Singhal ji, Sri Mohan Bhagwat ji, Sri Sudarshan ji and the present Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi ji. These renowned personalities all strengthened her energy, vision and passion to continue her mission for the upliftment of Humanity and Dharma. In her years of spiritual sadhana under the guidance of Swami Brahma Swarupananda ji, she has visited many pilgrimages in India including Kashi, Chitrakoot, Prayag, Ayodhya, Rameshwaram, Mathura, Vrindavan, Arunachala, Tirupathi, Puttaparthi, Janakpuri (Nepal). Her spiritual journey has taken her internationally to Indonesia, Japan, Israel, India, Nepal, United Kingdom, Holland, France, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, United States, South America – Suriname, French Guiana, Guyana, Venezuela and most of the Caribbean region. In Trinidad & Tobago, where she lives most of the year, she gives daily spiritual discourses (satsangh), teaches meditation, provides spiritual counseling and mentoring, and oversees humanitarian projects and activities. She also organizes various local and international conferences under the auspices of the Brahma Vidya Peetham International organization. Currently, she is working with Swami Brahma Swarupananda ji in translating the Sri Ramacharitmanas in various world languages as well as co-authoring various books on Sri Ramacharitmanas. Additionally, she contributes regularly in daily publications including the Trinidad Guardian, Trinidad Express, Trinidad Newsday, Dainik Jagran, Amar Ujala, and other renowned publications. She has been featured in National Television networks in Trinidad and Tobago such as CNC 3, CNN TV 6, Radio and TV Jaagriti and many other prominent networks. She is also the co-host and contributor of the Dharma Mangalam television series in Trinidad and Tobago. .
